THE POLLUX’S STAR FINDER

Download our simplified and colorable Star Wheel!
A Star Wheel allows you to locate elements of the sky at a precise time and date in a specific place. The Pollux Star Wheel is valid at the latitude of Laval, 45 degrees North. It contains the constellations of the zodiac as well as some of the most visible constellations and elements. The instructions to assemble it are available directly on the Star Wheel. Print it on both sides, preferably on cardboard, by selecting the “Actual Size” option.
TEACHING ACTIVITY NOTEBOOK ON THE COSMO MISSION
GUIDES
This Activity Notebook is intended for teachers, parents, and young people interested in the conquest of space, a highly captivating subject, and more specifically long-term space missions. If it targets primarily young students from the 2nd and 3rd elementary cycles (from the 4th to 6th year), activities are also suitable for students of the 1st elementary cycle as well as high school. Activities relate to the brand new ‘Mission Cosmo’, a simulated space mission to Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons. These activities are meant to enhance both a visit to the Cosmodome and carrying out the Cosmo Mission. Said activities can be done before or after a visit.

WORKSHOPS
Do you want to build a glider? Watch the Passion Naissante workshop to be able to build a paper plane model by following the assembly instructions. In addition, you will learn the forces at stake for an airplane in flight and you will discover various types of aerospace jobs.

SPACE GARDEN

As part of the 11th edition of the Petit Bonheurs Festival, which was to be held May 1-15, 2020, the Cosmodome had prepared an activity for toddlers. We tought we would share it with you.
List of required materials:
- A small plastic container, pierced at the bottom
- A larger plastic container to place the small punctured container
- Garden soil
- Seeds of your choice
- A spoon or small shovel
- Downloadable label, printed in 5 x 7 photo format
- A pair of scissors’
- Adhesive tape
- A pen marker
- A spray bottle or small watering can
GALACTIC GLUE

To be successful, you will need the following ingredients:
- 1/2 cup liquid glue (white glue)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp water
- 6 drops of food colouring
- 3 x 1 tsp multipurpose solution (contact lens liquid)
